The screenshot indicates, that the editor did not have the focus when the menu was activated (at least Qt did not recognize the focus). Please note as well, that your version of eric is very old (~18 months) and not supported by me anymore. Please upgrade to the latest version and try again.

I have the same issue with the edit menu in eric 6.0.8-1 in Ubuntu 16.04. Not sure how the program could not have the keyboard focus either when I'm in eric editing a file. Without search functionality it's practically unusable. I also get occational popus like this one. Not sure it it's related. This is the expected behavior when the editor or the shell does not have the keyboard focus.

The keyboard short-cuts of the affected menu items (e.g. Crtl-F for Search) are also not working.
